kevin and sarah: a modern minimalist wedding at the grotto and baker building in portland, oregon

a couple years ago, i had the pleasure of photographing a unique engagement session for an amazing couple, jake + krysti. they rented a cabin in hocking hills, invited their bridal party, and all had an amazing weekend together. i photographed everyone together as a group and also had some fun getting some candids of some of the couples that were there. kevin and sarah were of those couples, and they loved their candids so much that they decided to fly me all the way out to oregon last autumn for their modern minimalist wedding ceremony. the three of us took some time a couple days before the wedding to head out to the oregon coast for some engagement photos that were heavenly, and then spent some time in the city at the grotto for private vows and portraits on their wedding day. their beautiful standing ceremony DURING cocktail hour (drinks during the wedding?! yes please!) took place at the baker building above solabee flowers and made everyone fall in love all over again. i loved the gentle modern simplicity of sarah's style for the day and how together, kevin and sarah took the time to make their wedding exactly what they wanted it to be. i love how weddings like this strip away expectations and leave only what is true.

enjoy this day full of candid moments and gentle beauty.
